My Grandpa was not in WWII as a military person he was a merchant marine on the Pacific Coast. Shuttling oil up the coast to be processed here in Vancouver so our forces could use it in the Pacific Theater. They thought it was a bit touchy around Alaska, but never saw any Japanese subs. I am sure the pucker factor was high at times. He died in 2002 at a great age of 90. For him and all others that served in some fashion in any war I will remember you!!
